About the Park

Meade City Park is open year round and located at the east edge of town on Highway 54. Built in 1920, Meade City Park offers the shade of decades-old cottonwood trees. It’s a peaceful place to relax for awhile, enjoy watching the birds and squirrels, and admire the stonework of WPA crews who, in the late 1930s, built a large shelter house as well as the many feet of stone walls which wind around within the park. Some of the features of the park include:

  • Shelters for events or family gatherings*
  • Playgrounds
  • FREE Overnight RV camping (no hook-ups)
  • FREE RV dump station
  • Restrooms

*To reserve a shelter, call (620) 873-2091. Keys can be picked up at the City Office at 132 S. Fowler.
